What attendees had to say
about the conference;

"I found the conference to be a total immersion/experience in Latin lodging and Hospitality, extremely professional in all aspects and rewarding in information. As far as speakers, off the charts!!"

-Bert Ramos, Reno, Nevada

"I loved being able to speak to successful corporate and independent meeting professionals in a real life conference setting. Student conferences give us the foundation for networking but professional conferences give us that and more...The conference gave me hope for the future that I too will grow in this ever changing industry and have the opportunity to become one of those success stories."

-Gladys Montoya, New Mexico State University

"I wanted to thank you again for putting on such a great conference. I got a lot out of the time I was in Atlanta. I'm really happy you moved it to December when I don't have any conferences of my own."

-Magdalena Morales, Principal, Event Mosaic

"The HMP conference was one of the best tradeshows I attended in 2006. The panel of educational and motivational speakers took conferences, as I know it, to a whole new level. I felt honored to have been among such an elite group of professionals."

-Twila Jones,Sales Manager, Columbia Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau

"The IAHMP Conference was absolutely worth attending. The program allowed great opportunities to get to know colleagues and planners in a fun, educational environment. The speakers were some of the best in the industry with a major focus on the emerging Multi-Cultural Market."

-Barbara Kenney, Eastern Sales Director, Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau

We also want to thank all our collaborators and partners around the world.

Linda Pereira, our international Liaison in Portugal, Madrid and Barcelona who is helping IAHMP in developing the Certified Diversity Meeting Professional - CDMP program with a University partnership in Lisbon. Already, the first CDMP Certificate has been awarded to a very special student and a new class of 40 students will participate in the next CDMP class. With Linda's help we will be able to get the CDMP program underway internationally. Linda has also established the IAHMP Iberian professional chapter, which is our first international chapter in Europe.

In Mexico City, members Lizbeth Zamudio and Alma Soto, of Strategy & Events began to work on establishing a professional chapter in Mexico. In April, the board we will take a delegation to Mexico City to meet with this new group. Supplier members this is your opportunity to meet with industry professionals in Mexico who want to work with their colleagues in the United States. Call the office at 281-333-1552 if you would like to go. Both Alma and Lizbeth are meeting planners who attended the conference in Atlanta.

In Los Angeles, Magdalena Morales of Event Mosaic is busy getting the California professional chapter established. She has already gotten the support of Hispanic Business magazine to support her efforts. Magdalena has her own meeting planning business and has years of experience in working with non profit community organizations. Her organizing efforts will put IAHMP at the Center of the great state of California where we expect others will take note and expand the association throughout the state. It's exciting to finally see IAHMP in one of the most Hispanic populated states in the country.

Later this year, IAHMP will travel to Panama to visit with Diego Fernandez de Cordoba and Luis Rodriguez, president, the Institute for Standards in the Meetings Industry (ISMI)to collaborate on expanding the association into South America.
